Players 2nd Round Odds

The first round of the 2010 Players Championship is complete and J.B. Holmes and Robert Allenby are tied for the lead at 6-under par.

With those two in the lead, Lee Westwood has emerged as the favorite to win the vent as he sit one shot back.

Westwood has been given 6/1 odds win according to the online sports book Sportsbook.com. Other short odds to win are Tiger Woods (8/1), Phil Mickelson (11/1), Allenby (16/1), and Jim Furyk (16/1).
Westwood is part of a group of eight golfers that is tied at 5-under for the tournament. Westwood shot a 67 on Thursday as he had six birdies with one bogey.

Woods shot a 2-under 70 on Thursday to finish tied for 37th with 25 other golfers. Woods had a bogey-free round until the 18th hole, which pushed him back to 2-under. Woods started his round with eight pars.

Like Woods, Mickelson shot a 2-under 70 on Thursday. Mickelson closed his round with a birdie and he didn’t have a bogey on his final nine.

Allenby shot a 6-under 66 to be tied for the lead. He had seven birdies and one bogey in his round. His lone bogey came on his second-to-last hole.

Furyk is 3-under for the tournament after shooting a 69. Furyk is tied for 21st in the tournament. Furyk was +2 at one point after a double bogey and a bogey on two holes. But, Furyk then birdied four of his next five to save his round.
