Kentucky Derby Results & Payouts
Yet another year, yet another favorite that won the Kentucky Derby. This time, it was Justify, who cruised to victory in the 2018 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs earlier this evening. Here's a look at the official payouts and race results.
The favorite at 5/2 odds, Justify paid out $7.80 to win, $6.00 to place and $4.40 to show. All of these payouts are based off a $2 wager. In winning on Saturday, he became the first horse since Apollo in 1882 to win the Run for the Roses without racing as a 2-year-old. The lightly-ran horse is now 4-0 in his career, with his previous victory coming in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby.
Meanwhile, Good Magic came in second at 9/1 odds. He paid out $9.20 to place and $6.60 to show on a $2 wager. He was coming off a victory in the Grade 2 Blue Grass Stakes and now has two wins, three second-place showings and one third-place finish in his career.
Finally, Audible had 7/1 odds and finished third, cashing a winning ticket of $5.80 on Show. He came into Saturday's race at Churchill Downs on a four-start winning streak having won the Grade 2 Holy Bull and the Grade 1 Florida Derby in his prep for the Kentucky Derby.
A $2.00 EXACTA of 7-6 paid out $69.60 while a $1.00 TRIFECTA of 7-6-5 paid out $141.40. Finally, a $1.00 SUPERFECTA of 7-6-5-15 paid out $19,618.20.
