BETTING OVERVIEW: Talent isn’t the issue with Mo Tom, who hit the gate and was bumped early in the Lecomte Stakes but still managed to produce a win. BUt he essentially stopped when making his stretch run of both the Grade 2 Veterans Ford Risen Star Stakes and the Grade 2 Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby. Thus, he’s essentially a wildcard for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby. He has the talent to finish in the money, but he could also leave bettors frustrated when he doesn’t compete down the stretch. Buyer beware.
