Brody's Cause Kentucky Derby Snapshot
When the contenders for the 2016 Kentucky Derby take their post positions on Saturday, Brody's Cause will be listed among the long shots to win.
The Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Brody's Cause is currently 20/1 to win at Churchill Downs this weekend. Nyquist remains the favorite at 2/1 odds, while Mohaymen is 9/2, Exaggerator and Gun Runner are 13/2, respectively, and Mor Spirit is 15/2.
A Snapshot: Owned by Albaugh Family Stable and trained by Dale Romans, Brody's Cause has three wins, zero second-place finishes, and one third-place showings in six career starts. His career earnings are $1,123,138, which equates to $187,190 per start, and his pedigree is Giant's Causeway - Sweet Breanna, by Sahm. Considered a natural closer, Brody's Cause jockey will be Luis Saez on Saturday.
Why Bet Brody's Cause: Because he's already displayed the natural closing ability that is often required to win the Kentucky Derby. He closed from 11th to take command in the stretch at Keeneland Race Course before pulling away to win by 1 3/4 lengths. He also won the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland last October and finished third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Keeneland later that same month.
