Kentucky Derby Updated Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - Oddsmakers have updated the odds to win the 2013 Kentucky Derby and two contenders remain favored.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, both Orb and Verrazano are favored at 9/2 odds, respectively. Orb was a slight favorite on Friday morning but both contenders are drawing attention from bettors leading up to this evening's 6:24PM ET post time.
Revolutionary has the next best odds at 7/1 while Goldencents is 8/1 and Normandy Invasion is 9/1. Itsmyluckyday has similar odds at 10/1, Overanalyze is 14/1, and Java's War is 18/1. Some of the mid-range long shots include Vyjack at 20/1, Mylute at 25/1 and Lines of Battle at 25/1.
Continuing with the current odds, Will Take Charge, Palace Malice and Frac Daddy are 28/1, respectively, while Oxbow is 33/1. Charming Kitten is 40/1, and both Golden Soul and Falling Sky are 50/1 long shots, giving them the worst odds of any Kentucky Derby contender.
Contender Black Onyx was scratched and even though he was a long shot to win today, it's worth noting because he drew the rail on Wednesday. Now Oxbow has the "rail" position coming out of the No. 2 post, while Revolutionary will exit from the No. 3 post and Golden Soul will exit from the No. 4 post. Normandy Invasion drew the No. 5 post.
