Went The Day Well Derby Odds
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – Following back to back wins in his last two races, 2012 Kentucky Derby contender Went The Day Well looks to surprise this Saturday at Churchill Downs.
According to oddsmakers Went The Day Well is 22/1 to win this Saturday’s Kentucky Derby, while Bodemeister is a 4/1 favorite. Union Rags has the next best odds at 5/1 while Gemologist is 13/2 and Dullahan is 15/2. Hansen is 10/1 to win, while Creative Cause is 11/1.
As previously mentioned, Went The Day Well is 2-0 in his last two races and finished just outside the money in his first outing of the year. He placed fourth at a MSW on February 4 but rallied to win a MSW on March 3 and then emerged victorious again on the Grade III Spiral on March 24.
Team Valor International owns Went The Day Well and H. Graham Motion is his trainer. John Velazquez is Went The Day Well’s jockey, which is significant considering he won last year’s Kentucky Derby while aboard Animal Kingdom. Went The Day Well will come out of the No. 13 post position on Saturday.
