Liaison Derby Odds & Preview
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – Following a disappointing sixth place finish in his last outing, Liaison is a long shot to win this Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers, Liaison is currently a 40/1 long shot to win the 2012 Kentucky Derby, while Bodemeister and Union Rags are 7/2 favorites, respectively. Gemologist has the next best odds at 7/1 and Dullahan is 8/1.
Liaison finished sixth at the Grade I Santa Anita Derby and fourth at the Grade II San Felipe on March 10. He placed a disappointing eighth at the Grade II Robert B. Lewis on February 4 but did collect three consecutive victories at a MSW (October 14), the Real Quiet (November 12) and the Grade I CashCall Futurity (December 17) last year.
Arnold Zetcher is Liaison’s owner while Bob Baffert is his trainer and Martin Garcia is his jockey. Baffert won the 2012 Kentucky Derby with War Emblem and had back-to-back victories in the 1997 (Silver Charm) and 1998 (Real Quiet) Kentucky Derby as well.
