Tencendur Kentucky Derby Preview
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - Tencendur will compete as one of the heavy long shots on Saturday when he runs in the 2015 Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Tencendur is a 50/1 long shot to win the 2015 Kentucky Derby. Those odds are the longest to win and are also shared by Stanford. American Pharoah is a 9/4 favorite while Dortmund has comparable odds at 9/2.
Tencendur is coming off a second-place showing on April 4 in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial. Despite finishing ahead of El Kabeir, who finished third, he's still a 66/1 long shot to win the Kentucky Derby while El Kabeir is 33/1. Frosted won the Wood Memorial and is 16/1 to win at Churchill Downs on Saturday.
In his other career starts, Tencendur finished fifth in the Grade 3 Gotham on March 7 and fourth in the Grade 3 Withers Stakes on February 7. His lone career victory came in a MSW on January 19.
Tencendur will run from the No. 4 post position, which has produced 11 winners in the history of the Kentucky Derby, including Super Saver in 2010.
