El Padrino Derby Odds & Preview
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – Having won three of his last five races, El Padrino could be in the mix for a victory this Saturday in the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers, El Padrino is currently listed at 16/1 to win the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Bodemeister and Union Rags are 7/2 favorites, respectively, while Gemologist (7/1) and Dullahan (8/1) own the next best odds to win.
El Padrino placed fourth in his most recent race, which came at the Grade I Florida Derby on March 31. He won the Grade II Risen Star on February 25 and also rode to victory at an Allowance on January 29, beating Take Charge Indy, who won the Grade I Florida Derby. El Padrino’s third victory came at a MSW on October 29 of last year.
Let’s Go Stable owns El Padrino while Todd Pletcher is his trainer and Rafael Bejarano is his trainer. Pletcher won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver while Bejarano won the 2010 Kentucky Oaks aboard Blind Luck.
