Daddy Nose Best Derby Odds
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – 2012 Kentucky Derby contender Daddy Nose Best is currently among the mid-range long shots to win this Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Oddsmakers list Daddy Nose Best at 15/1, which give him the same odds as fellow contender I’ll Have Another and similar odds to Alpha (11/1), Creative Cause (11/1), El Padrino (16/1), Hansen (14/1) and Take Charge Indy (16/1). Bodemeister and Union Rags are both 7/2 favorites, respectively.
Daddy Nose Best is coming off back-to-back wins at the Grade III El Camino Real Derby on February 18 and the Grade III Sunland Derby on March 25. He also placed fifth at the Eddie Logan Stakes on December 31 of last year and sixth at the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on November 5 of last year.
Daddy Nose Best is owned by Cathy and Bob Zollars and is trained by Steve Asmussen. His jockey Garrett Gomez has nine appearances in the Kentucky Derby with his best finish coming in 2009 when he rode Pioneerofthe Nile to a second place finish. Asmussen trained back-to-back Horse of the Year’s in Curlin and Rachel Alexandra.
The 2012 Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday, May 5 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
