Vicar's In Trouble Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) – The Louisiana Derby winner Vicar’s In Trouble is currently sitting at 18/1 to win the Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Vicar’s In Trouble has the same odds as Ride On Curlin and Samraat. California Chrome remains the favorite at 11/5, while Wicked Strong is 15/2 and Danza is 10/1. Hoppertunity is also 12/1 while Intense Holiday is 16/1 and Dance With Fate is 20/1.
Vicar’s In Trouble is coming off a win over Intense Holiday and Commanding Curve (among others) in the Louisiana Derby, which was his third victory in four starts. He also claimed wins at the Grade III Lecomte on January 18 and in a MSW last December.
The 3-year-old colt also placed third in the Grade II Risen Star on February 22, finishing behind Intense Holiday and Albano, who also placed second behind Vicar’s In Trouble in the Lecomte. In his only other race, Vicar’s In Trouble finished third behind Ruslana and Song of Dixie in a MSW back in October of last year.
Despite being small in stature, trainer Mike Maker likes Vicar’s In Trouble’s chances on Saturday.
"He's got a great big stride," Napravnik said. "And he's extremely well put together. If you look at any of the photos of him, if you weren't standing near him, you'd think he was as big as anybody else."
The 2014 Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 6:24PM ET, which is the post time.
