Creative Cause Derby Odds & Preview
LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) – 2012 Kentucky Derby contender Creative Cause finds himself in the middle of the pack in terms of the odds for this Saturday’s race.
Oddsmakers currently list Creative Cause with 11/1 odds, which are the exact same as fellow contender Alpha. Bodemeister and Union Rags are both 7/2 favorites, respectively to win this year’s Kentucky Derby.
Creative Cause is coming off a second place finish at the Grade I Santa Anita Derby on April 7 and also won the Grade 2 San Felipe on March 10, beating out Kentucky Derby favorite Bodemeister (among others). Creative Cause also placed third at the Grade II San Vicente on February 19, finishing behind Drill and American Act.

Creative Cause won three of his five outings in 2011, including the Grade 1 Norfolk on October 1 and the Grade II Best Pal on August 7. His other victory came in a MSW on July 16 when he beat out Bling Cha Bling and Fit to Rule.
Mike Harrington is Creative Cause’s trainer while Joel Rosario will have the mount this weekend. Rosario made his first appearance in the 2010 Kentucky Derby when he finished fourth aboard Make Music For Me.
The 2012 Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday, May 5 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
