Danza Kentucky Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - The 2014 Kentucky Derby is this Saturday and one of the best values on the board might be Danza.
If his latest race history is any indication then Danza is going to run near the front of the Kentucky Derby field. He's coming off a win at the Arkansas Derby on April 12 and placed third in back-to-back starts at the Saratoga Special on August 11 of last year and an Allowance on March 3. he also won a MSW back in July of last year, which gives him two wins in four starts.
Despite his impressive finishes, Danza is only 9/1 to win the 2014 Kentucky Derby, which takes place this Saturday at Churchill Downs. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, California Chrome remains the favorite to win the Derby at 12/5 while Wicked Strong has the next-best odds at 7/1. Danza is third at 9/1.
Continuing with the odds, Hoppertunity is 12/1 to win on Saturday while Intense Holiday and Samraat are both 16/1, respectively. Dance With Fate and Ride On Curlin are also 20/1, respectively, while Vicar's in Trouble is 22/1 and both Candy Boy and Wildcat Red are 25/1.
"In the last month, he's definitely become a boss," said Aron Wellman, president of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, the racing company that owns Danza. "(Danza) wants to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it."
The 2014 Kentucky Derby will take place this Saturday, May 3 at approximately 6:24PM ET, which is the race's post time.
