Quail Hollow Picks
The 2010 Quail Hollow Championship will begin play on Thursday, and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggested picks for this weekend.
Tiger Woods 3/1
Woods has the most to gain this weekend as the quicker he gets back in the winner’s circle, the quicker fans forget about his personal issues. Woods has past success in this tournament and rarely isn’t in the top 10 of a tournament he competes in. His payout may not be big, but Woods is always a safe play in any tournament.
Jim Furyk 20/1
With Phil Mickelson battling health issues this week, Furyk looks to be the second-best play of the weekend. He won this event in 2006 and was 11th a year ago and seventh in 2008. Furyk is hot, winning three of his last nine events.
Matt Kuchar 40/1
Kuchar is 32nd in the world rankings and has finished in the top 25 in his last four events, including two top 10’s. Kuchar has seven top 10’s in his last 14 events. Kuchar has established himself as one of the top golfers over the last 12 months and this weekend will give him a chance to build on that. With 40/1 odds, Kuchar could pay big dividends for a small gamble.
The 2010 Quail Hollow Championship will be played at Quail Hollow Golf Course in Charlotte, North Carolina starting on Thursday, April 29 and concluding Sunday, May 2.
