Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have established Chocolate Candy as a 14/1 shot to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Chocolate Candy has four first place finishes in his last six races, coming in the El Camino Real Derby (2/14/09), the California Derby (1/17/09), the Real Quiet S. (11/8/08) and the Maiden Special Weight (10/4/08). In his last race, Chocolate Candy had a second place finish at the Santa Anita Derby on February 4.

Chocolate Candy will continue to go through light workouts throughout the week and while he remains a long shot to win this year’ Kentucky Derby, his stable overseer Galen May has been on record of saying the colt is ‘special.’

Chocolate Candy (14/1) rounds out the top 5 thoroughbreds in this Saturday’s race. His odds currently rank behind 2009 Kentucky Derby favorite I Want Revenge (5/2), Dunkirk (9/2), Friesan Fire (13/2) and Pioneerof the Nile (6/1).
