Colts Still SB Favorties
The NFL draft is over and the free agent frenzy is too. This is the perfect time to update the NFL Future odds at BroburySports.com.
Note there are two sets of odds below. The first is the current one. The odds in parenthesis are from the day after the Super Bowl.
Looking below, two of the biggest odds fluctuations revolve around quarterback Donovan McNabb. He was shockingly traded from Philly to division rival Washington. Philly has seen its odds go from 12/1 to 18/1, as replacement Kevin Kolb is largely unproven.
Washington is down to 20/1 from 50/1. That’s putting a ton of faith in McNabb as the rest of the team still has major holes, even with coach Mike Shanahan. They did make a nice acquisition in the draft’s first round, getting talented left tackle Trent Williams from Oklahoma.
The Chicago Bears are down to 25/1 from 40/1. The free agent acquisition of defensive end Julius Peppers is a big reason, as is the hiring of offensive coordinator Mike Martz. However, quarterback Jay Cutler must have a huge jump-up in play after a bonehead season full of interceptions. Those odds sseem overvalued.
Arizona’s odds are up to 50/1 from 30/1. You can blame the retirement of Kurt Warner for that. Matt Leinart was a high draft pick, but I’m not sure even the Arizona coaching staff believes in him. They were interested in McNabb and were also linked to other available signal callers.
