Friday Sports Betting Values
(The Spread) – In today’s “Spotting Value” article, the underdog Lakers have had plenty of recent success versus the Spurs.

The Lakers are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games in San Antonio while the road team is 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings between these two Western Conference rivals. The Lakers are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a road underdog.
NBA VALUE PLAY: LAKERS +5
New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox, 3:05PM ET
The Yankees are 6-0 in Ivan Nova’s last six starts during Game 1 of a series and 12-3 in his last 15 outings versus the AL East. The Yankees are also 7-2 in Nova’s last nine road starts and 11-1 in his last 12 outings when he’s working on four days of rest. Detroit Red Wings vs. Nashville Predators, 8:00PM ET
The Predators aren’t a tremendous value at –120 but with only two games to choose from on tonight’s NHL playoff schedule, -120 isn’t that bad of a price. (Especially when you compare it to the Flyers-Penguins game, where you would have to lay –180 if you liked Pittsburgh to win again.) The Red Wings are just 1-5 in their last six games versus the Predators and 2-8 in their last 10 games as an underdog. Detroit is also 2-8 in its last 10 road games, 1-4 in its last five games versus the Central and 2-8 in its last 10 games as a road underdog.
NHL PLAYOFFS VALUE PLAY: NASHVILLE PREDATORS –120
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Again, there’s not a ton of “value” in a hockey total that’s sitting at 7, although given how many goals have been scored in this Philadelphia-Pittsburgh series, maybe it is. The over is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Pittsburgh and 5-0-1 in the last six meetings overall. The over is also 5-1 in the Penguins’ last six playoff games as a favorite and 6-0 in the Flyers’ last six playoff games as an underdog
TOTAL VALUE PLAY: OVER 7
