Verizon Heritage Picks
The 2010 Verizon Heritage golf tournament begins play on Thursday and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggest picks for this weekend’s major championship.
Jim Furyk 16/1
Furyk is coming off a poor performance, but prior to that he was a model of consistency, making 22-straight cuts. Having gotten a bad week out of his system, look for Furyk to bounce back this week in an event that he has done well in, finishing in the top five in two of the last four years. 16/1 odds could provide a nice payday if Furyk comes through.
K.J. Choi 20/1
In the opposite of Furyk, Choi has been hot, finishing in the top five in three of his last four events. In this tournament, with the field thinned out a bit, Choi has a nice opportunity to finish near the top again. With 20/1 odds, Choi looks to be a good play for the weekend.
Stewart Cink 40/1
Cink should snap out of his funk this week as he has missed two of his last four cuts. He placed seventh in this event in 2008 and he opened the year by placing in the top 10 in two of his first four events. Sink has missed just nine cuts in the last two years and never missed back-to-back cuts, so look for him to jump out quickly this week and be in contention on Sunday. With 40/1 odds, you can’t really lose with Cink.
