Stricker vs. Goosen
Two steady golfers that will play in the 2010 Masters are Steve Stricker and Retief Goosen. Which of the two will finish better this week?
Both golfers are among the favorites to win the tournament, but in a head-to-head matchup, Stricker is slightly favored.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com, Steve Stricker has a money line of -130 against Goosen, who has an even money line. Here is a look at both golfers heading into this tournament, which takes place from Augusta National in August, Georgia and begins on Thursday.
Steve Stricker -130:
Stricker has never won a Masters championship or a major championship in his career. His sixth place finish in 2009 was his best showing since 2001, when he finished 10th. Stricker either missed the cut or did not play in this tournament from 2002-08. Stricker is the second ranked player in the world right now as he has finished in the top 10 in eight of his last 12 events. He has four wins since April of 2009.
Retief Goosen even:
Goosen has never won the Masters but he is a two-time major championship winner, having won the U.S. Open in 2001 and 2004. Goosen has finished second in two Masters tournaments and third in two others. He missed the cut in 2009, but had finished in the top 17 of the Masters from 2002-08. Goosen is currently ranked 16th in the world. He has finished in the top 10 in 11 of his last 14 tournaments.
