Indy Grand Prix of Alabama Odds
BIRMINGHAM, AL (TheSpread) – The 2012 IRL Season heads to Alabama this week for the running of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers, Will Power is the favorite to win this race with 3/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon, who each have 5/1 odds. This even is taking place from Barber Motorsports Park and is in just its third year of existence.
Power is the defending champion of this race and he placed fourth in the 2010 contest. Power placed seventh in last week’s race and he has a total of 13 wins in his IRL career.
Castroneves won this race back in 2010 and placed seventh in 2011. Helio won the season-opening race and is currently the points leader. It was his first win in over a year.
Franchitti placed 13th in the first race of the season. He has finished third in this race in its two years of existence. Franchitti is the three-time defending series champion and he has seven wins over the last two full seasons.
Dixon placed second in last week’s series opener and he has finished second in this race in 2010 and 2011. Dixon owns five wins over the last two full seasons.
