Embattled golfer Tiger Woods plays the first major of the season, The Masters, in just 10 days. Woods is the 3/1 favorite and BroburySports.com members can wager on how majors he’ll win this year.
Here are the current odds:
0 Majors (10/11)
1 Major (7/4)
2 Majors (4/1)
3 Majors (10/1)
4 Majors (25/1) Grand Slam
Woods had knee surgery in 2008 after a stunning win in the US Open. That put him out of commission for both the British Open and PGA Championship.
The 2009 season was almost as eventful. He shrugged off the knee surgery to win six tournaments, subsequently being named PGA Player of the Year.
However, Woods failed to win a major tournament for the first time since 2004. Woods finished tied for sixth at both The Masters and the U.S Open. At the British Open, he missed the cut for just the second time at a major as a professional.
At the PGA Championship, Woods blew a 54-hole lead at a major for the first time in his career. That fact it happened against a relative unknown, Y.E. Yang, made it even more shocking.
Woods faces his biggest challenge this year after his recent marriage and sex scandal. The sordid details have become breaking news every day. There is tremendous pressure on him to perform, and the whole world will be watching.
A press conference is scheduled a week from today (April 5). Woods will try to placate the media, but it’s certain to be a circus either way. His only hope is the strict security and fan rules at Augusta will give him the breathing room to succeed.
Of course, he still has to hit the ball well after a long layoff.
