Arnold Palmer Picks
The 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational will begin play on Thursday, and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggested picks for this weekend.
Phil Mickelson 8/1
Mickelson won this event in 1997 and he placed 21st in 2008. Mickelson has made the cut in his last 18 events and has finished in the top 20 in six of his last eight events, which also includes two victories. He is in need of a solid showing leading up to the Masters in a couple weeks, making him a good play this weekend.
Vijay Singh 20/1
Singh won this event in 2007 and finished third in 2008 and seventh in 2006. He is coming off back-to-back outings where he finished in the top 11 and he has missed one cut so far this year. With his string of strong play recently, he looks to be making a push for a solid 2010 and with 20/1 odds, we like Singh as a play this weekend.
Kenny Perry 50/1
Perry won this tournament in 2005 and he finished eighth in last year’s event. Perry hasn’t missed a cut in a tournament since 2008 and he has five top 20’s in his last 16 events. He has four tour wins since 2008 as well. With such long odds but consistent play, we like Perry this weekend. He should at least be playing this weekend and able to contend for a run on Sunday.
The 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational will be played at Bay Hill Course in Orlando, Florida starting on Thursday, March 25 and concluding Sunday, March 28.
