East Region Odds

The 2009 March Madness Tournament is set to kickoff soon and oddsmakers have released the odds for the East Region Bracket.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPROTSBETTING.COM has made No. 1-seeded Pittsburgh the clear favorite to win the East Region at 5-4 odds. The Panthers are led by forwards Sam Young, who averages 18.7 points per game, and DeJuan Blair, who leads the team in rebounds per game with 12.2.

No. 2-seeded Duke is listed right behind PITT at 7-2 odds to win the East. The Blue Devils finished 28-6 this season and are led by forward Kyle Singler, who averaged 16.7 points per game, and Gerald Henderson, who averages 16.6 points per game.

Villanova – the No. 3 seed – has been given 5-1 odds to win the East Region, while the sixth-seeded UCLA Bruins have been given 6-1 odds. Ironically enough, No. 4-seeded Xavier has been given 12-1 odds to win, while No. 5-seeded Florida State is a 15-1 long shot.
