2011 Oscars Odds Best Supporting Actor

HOLLYWOOD, CA (TheSpread) – The Oscar for Best Supporting Actor appears to be Christian Bale’s to lose as he is the clear favorite to win at the 2011 Academy Awards.

Bale has betting odds of -1200 to win according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com. Other nominees for the award are Geoffrey Rush (+200), Jeremy Renner (+2000), Mark Ruffalo (+3000), and John Hawkes (+3000).

Bale plays Dicky Eklund, half-brother of Micky Ward in the movie The Fighter. The character is based on a true story of a former boxer turned trainer that struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. Bale won the 2011 SAG Award and Golden Glob for Best Supporting Actor.

The only other possible winner appears to be Rush, who played the therapist to King George VI in The King’s Speech. Rush is a former Oscar winner for Best Actor.
