WGC-Match Play Picks

The 2010 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship begins play on Wednesday, and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggested plays for the weekend.

Bet The 2010 WGC-Match Play Championship
Geoff Ogilvy 11/1

Ogilvy has had great success in this tournament, winning two times and finishing second in 2007. As the defending champion, Ogilvy has momentum on his side and with many of the top players not competing this week, he has a great chance to repeat.

Steve Stricker 11/1

Stricker hasn’t had the greatest success in this tournament since winning in 2001, but he has been one of the hottest players in the world right now, finishing in the top 10 in his last five events, including a win in the Northern Trust Open two weeks ago. With the field not as strong, Stricker is the best all-around golfer in the tournament, making him a nice play.

Dustin Johnson 33/1

Dustin Johnson is coming off a win at Pebble Beach last week and was third at the Northern Trust Open. He didn’t make it out of the first round last year, but since then, he has quickly established himself as one of the top rising stars in golf. He has finished in the top 20 in seven of his last 10 events. At 33/1 odds, he could bring a big payday on Sunday.

The 2010 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship will be played from the Ritz-Carlton Golf Course starting on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and concluding Sunday, Feb. 21.
