SOCHI, Russia (The Spread) – The top two male biathlon contenders will battle it out in the Men’s Individual at the 2014 Olympics. Here is a look at the odds to win this race.

According to oddsmakers from, both Emil Hegle Svendsen and Martin Fourcade are favored to win the event, as each has 5/2 odds. The other shorts odds to win are Simon Schempp, who has 12/1 odds.

Svendsen competes for Norway and he is the defending Olympic champion in the individual. He also won the 2008 world title but has failed to place in the last three world championships in the event.

Fourcade competes for France. He is seeking his first Olympic gold medal, but he is the defending world champion in this event.

Schempp competes for Germany. He is seeking his first Olympic medal and he has yet to claim a medal in the world championships for the individual.
