Men's 12.5km Pursuit Olympic Odds


SOCHI, Russia (The Spread) – The Men’s Pursuit at the 2014 Olympics has two equal favorites to claim the gold medal. Here is a look at the odds to win this race.

According to oddsmakers from, Emil Hegle Svendsen and Martin Fourcade are the two favorites, as each has 5/2 odds. The other short odds to win are Ole Einar Bjoerndalen (9/1).

Svendsen competes for Norway and he is seeking his first Olympic medal in the pursuit. He has won gold in other events, but not this one. He is the 2013 world champion in the pursuit.

Fourcade competes for France. He has not won an Olympic medal in this event either, but was the 2012 and 2011 world champ in the pursuit. He finished second to Svendsen in 2013.

Bjoerndalen competes for Norway. He won the gold medal in this event at the 2002 Olympics and took home silver in 2006. His last world title in the pursuit came in 2009.
