Coldplay Halftime Show Odds
The Halftime Show is always a big part of the Super Bowl. With Coldplay getting the honors this year, what can we expect them band to open with?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, two songs are currently co-favored to open the show. Both “Adventure of a Lifetime” and “Viva la Vida” are listed at +200. Other odds are “A Sky Full of Stars” (+450), “Fix You” (+550), “Clocks” (+1000), “Head Full of Dreams” (+1000), “Speed of Sound” (+1500) and “Paradise” (+1500). Coldplay will perform the Halftime Show of Super Bowl 50 this Sunday. The game is set to begin on CBS at 6:30PM ET.
“Viva la Vida” is arguably the band’s top song. Released in 2008, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard singles charts. The song opens with a very upbeat and poppy tune and the chorus is uplifting with a lot of noise and chance for visual display at the halftime show. Coldplay is known for being somewhat low-key, so at a show like this, look for them to go with one of their more lively songs.
“Adventures of a Lifetime” is one of the band’s newer songs, being released in 2015. It didn’t have the same success at “Viva la Vida”, reaching just 39th in the US Billboard chart. The song features a poppy beat that is more of a dance song than what Coldplay normally has released. The music video features monkeys dancing in the jungle, so it could incorporate an animal visual with the show if the band is looking to go heavy on the visuals. While more upbeat than “Viva la Vida”, the song doesn’t seem to have that same powerful feel to it.
