Biathlon Pursuit Odds
Like the men, the Biathlon Women’s 10 Kilometer Pursuit will make its third appearance in Olympic history at the 2010 Winter Olympics in
In this event, the top 60 finishers in the 7.5 kilometer sprint can compete in the pursuit. The sprint winner starts the race and the racer's final deficit behind sprint winner corresponds to their starting deficit in the pursuit. Competitors race over five loops of a 2 kilometer skiing course, shooting twenty times after each loop. 10 shots are prone and 10 shots are standing. Each miss requires a competitor to ski a 150-meter penalty loop.
The defending world champion in this event, Helena Jonsson, is favored to win the gold medal.
