PITTSBURGH (AP) -Carolina winger Scott Walker left the ice late in the second period of the Hurricanes’ game against Pittsburgh on Friday night because of what the team called a torso injury.
While skating to the bench during a stoppage in play, Walker fell to his knees. A stretcher was brought out and play was delayed for several minutes with 2:34 left in the second period and the Hurricanes leading 3-1.
Walker ultimately skated off slowly with the aid of team personnel.
After Walker was taken off the ice, the Penguins scored twice in the next 2:28.
