ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -Anaheim Ducks right winger Todd Bertuzzi was placed on the injured list Monday because of a concussion sustained a night earlier against Minnesota.
He is expected to be out at least a week, the team said.
Bertuzzi signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Ducks during the offseason, leaving the Detroit Red Wings.
He is coming off an injury-plagued season, having played in only 15 games last season with Florida and Detroit because of a back injury.
Bertuzzi was suspended in March 2004 for sucker-punching Steve Moore of the Colorado Avalanche during a game. He missed the rest of that season and the playoffs. He was reinstated after the lockout that wiped out the 2004-05 season.
