ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -Defenseman Steve Eminger and center Brian Sutherby re-signed Tuesday with the Washington Capitals, who also added free agent center Jason Morgan.
Eminger had one goal and 16 assists last season, his fourth with the Capitals. He has six goals and 35 assists in 192 career NHL games since being the 12th overall pick in the 2002 draft.
Sutherby finished last season with seven goals and 10 assists and was fourth on the Capitals with 78 penalty minutes. He missed the last nine games with a hand injury.
A first-round draft choice in 2000, Sutherby has 25 goals and 35 assists in 254 NHL games, all with Washington.
Morgan played in four games with the Minnesota Wild last season. The 30-year-old Morgan, who spent most of last season in the AHL, has two goals and five assists in 44 career NHL games with five teams.
