DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Red Wings activated defenseman Brian Rafalski from injured reserve Tuesday after he missed eight games with a groin strain.
The 34-year-old Rafalski played in 223 consecutive games before the injury. The Red Wings play at home against St. Louis on Wednesday night.
This season, he’s scored 10 goals and made 36 assists for 46 points in 59 games.
Rafalski began his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils in 1999. He agreed to a five-year, $30 million free-agent contract with the Red Wings in July.
