RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Hurricanes placed defenseman Glen Wesley on injured reserve Saturday and recalled defenseman Tim Conboy and forward Brandon Nolan from their AHL affiliate in Albany.
Wesley was placed on the injured list retroactive to Jan. 5 because of illness. Both Nolan and Conboy were expected to play Saturday night against Colorado.
For Nolan, 24-year-old son of New York Islanders coach Ted Nolan, it marks the fourth stint with Carolina this season, third of the month and second this week.
He was called up by the Hurricanes Jan. 3, sent back to Albany Jan. 8, recalled Thursday and sent back to Albany a day later. He had one goal and two assists Friday night before his latest call-up.
Conboy, signed last summer by Carolina as a free agent, has yet to make his NHL debut.
