Stars edge Sharks for fourth straight win
Dallas improved to 16-10-3 on the season Friday night with a 3-2 home victory over San Jose. Miro Heiskanen broke a 1-1 tie with 15:22 left in the third period on a goal with assists going to Tyler Pitlick and Radek Faksa. Brett Ritchie made it 3-1 shortly thereafter on assists from Devin Shore and Jason Spezza. The Sharks managed to cut it to 3-2, but could not find the equalizer. Mattias Janmark scored the first Stars goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the second period as Roman Polak assisted on the tally. Ben Bishop made 41 saves on 43 shots in the winning effort.
Golden Knights struggle at Kings
Las Vegas did not put up much of a fight Saturday in a 5-1 defeat at Los Angeles. Oscar Lindberg scored the game’s first goal in the opening period to give the Golden Knights (16-14-1) a 1-0 advantage before they surrendered five unanswered goals. Tomas Nosek and Ryan Carpenter assisted on the Lindberg goal. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed five goals on 20 shots in the defeat.
NHL Betting Trends
Dallas
The Stars are 4-0 in their last four versus the Western Conference. Dallas is 36-17 in its last 53 versus the Pacific Division.
Las Vegas
The Golden Knights are 15-2 in their last 17 Sunday games. Las Vegas is 7-2 in its last nine games overall.
Prediction:
The Golden Knights struggled against LA and are on a back-to-back, so I see value in plus money on a Stars team that is red-hot and had a day of rest between games. Bishop should be in goal for this contest, while Las Vegas is expected to turn to backup Malcolm Subban. I’m taking Dallas in this spot.
