Oilers unable to hang with Stars

Edmonton lost 4-1 at Dallas Monday night as it fell to 13-12-2 on the season. Jujhar Kaira scored the lone goal for the Oilers with 5:24 remaining to cut the deficit to 3-1 at that point. Leon Draisaitl and Chris Wideman assisted on the tally. Mikko Koskinen made 21 saves on 24 shots to take the loss. Adam Larsson paced Edmonton with four shots on goal.

Blues hammered by Coyotes

St. Louis dropped to 9-13-3 on the season Saturday night with a 6-1 defeat at the Coyotes. The Blues cut their deficit to 2-1 early in the second period as Robert Thomas scored his second goal of the season. Jay Bouwmeester and Ryan O'Reilly provided the assists. Arizona responded with four unanswered goals. Chad Johnson suffered the loss as he surrendered six goals on 44 shots. St. Louis had 26 shots on goal with Vladimir Tarasenko registering a team-best five of them.

NHL Betting Trends

The Oilers are 0-4 in their last four Wednesday games. The under is 4-0 in the last four Edmonton games overall.

St. Louis

The Blues are 11-3 in their last 14 home games versus the Oilers. St. Louis is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings overall.

The Blues have had a couple more days of rest coming into this contest, while Edmonton is on a back-to-back. As bad as the Blues have been, rest goes a long way in athletics and its not like the Oilers are a lot to write home about anyway. I don't love betting on St. Louis, but it is at home and plenty of factors are in its favor. Fading the Oilers as much as I'm betting on the Blues in this spot.
