Sabres drop second straight
On the heels of a 10-game winning streak, Buffalo has lost two in a row on the road including a 3-2 overtime decision Friday night at the Panthers. Buffalo (17-7-3) struck first as Jeff Skinner scored his 20th goal of the season in the opening period on assists from Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel. Reinhart scored on the power play in the second period to give the Sabres a 2-1 advantage as Eichel and Linus Ullmark assisted. Florida evened it up in the third period before winning it in OT. Ullmark made 40 saves on 43 shots to take the loss.
Predators snap two-game skid
Nashville opened up a 3-0 advantage in the first 4:11 Friday night in a 5-2 home win over the Blackhawks. Kevin Fiala, Eeli Tolvanen and Ryan Johansen scored the first three goala. Craig Smith added a goal later in the opening period as the Predators (18-8-1) led 4-1 through 20 minutes. Austin Watson scored the last goal in the victory. Fiala, Johansen, Smith and Tolvanen also had an assist to go with their goals. For Tolvanen, it was the first goal of his NHL career. Pekka Rinne made 19 saves on 21 shots to earn the win.
NHL Betting Trends
The road team is 18-5-1 in the last 24 meetings. The Sabres are 4-0 in their last four games versus the Western Conference.
The over is 3-1-2 in the last six meetings overall. The over is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings in Nashville.
The Sabres had some luck during their 10-game winning streak and now it is going the other way as trends tend to do. In a tough matchup tonight against one of the NHL's best teams, I can't endorse Buffalo tonight. I'm going to go with Nashville in this spot.
