Golden Knights down Coyotes in shootout

Las Vegas earned a 2-1 victory in a shootout at home over Arizona Friday to improve to 13-11-4 on the season. The Golden Knights won the shootout by a count of 2-1 as Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Tuch found the back of the net. After a scoreless first period, Tuch gave Las Vegas a 1-0 advantage on the power play with 12:59 remaining in the second period off assists by Nicolas Hague and Marchessault. The Coyotes evened it up at the 5:07 mark of the second and the score would remain at 1-1 through overtime. Malcolm Subban secured 35 saves on 36 shots in the winning effort.

Rangers shut out Devils

New York posted a 4-0 shutout win at New Jersey Saturday to move to 13-9-3 on the season. Alexandar Georgiev stopped all 33 shots sent his way to record the shutout for the Rangers. Adam Fox opened the scoring on the power play with 7:15 to go in the first period off assists from Kaapo Kakko and Jacob Trouba. Mika Zibanejad made it 2-0 at the 17:25 mark of the third period on an assist by Brendan Lemieux. Jesper Fast added a shorthanded goal a few minutes later with assists courtesy of Zibanejad and Trouba. Brady Skjei scored an unassisted goal with 2:42 left to complete the scoring.

NHL Betting Trends

Las Vegas

The Golden Knights are 2-5 in their last seven games following a win. Las Vegas is 2-9 in its last 11 Monday games.

New York

The Rangers are 5-0 in their last five games as a home underdog. New York is 5-14 in its last 19 games versus the Western Conference.

Prediction:

With Las Vegas being so inconsistent this season, I think this is a great spot for the Rangers. New York has stepped its game up at home when playing tough competition and will have No. 1 goalie Henrik Lundqvist between the pipes tonight. It's a little concerning that the Rangers are on a back-to-back, but they were not tested a whole lot by New Jersey and travel was not far so I think they will bounce back strong tonight.
