Golden Knights win third straight
Las Vegas rolled in a 6-0 shutout victory Saturday night at home over the Sharks. Marc-Andre Fleury was stellar in net as he stopped all 33 shots sent his way for the shutout. Max Pacioretty paced the offense by scoring two goals in the first period as the Golden Knights (12-12-1) grabbed a 4-0 advantage. William Karlsson, Colin Miller, William Carrier and Alex Tuch also scored for Las Vegas. Miller and Tuch also dished out an assist, while Reilly Smith registered two assists.
Blackhawks snap two-game skid
Chicago (9-10-5) secured a 5-4 overtime victory Saturday at the Panthers as Erik Gustafsson scored the game-winner 2:32 into the extra session. The Blackawks trailed 4-2 through two periods, but pulled within a goal midway through the third and then tied it up in thrilling fashion with two seconds remaining on a goal by Alex DeBrincat. David Kampf, Patrick Kane and Alexandre Fortin each scored a goal. Kampf also dished out an assist, while Gustav Forsling and Brandon Saad each registered two assists. Cam Ward recorded 34 saves on 38 shots in the winning effort.
NHL Betting Trends
The Golden Knights are 0-5 in their last five after scoring five or more goals in their previous game. The under is 4-0 in the last four Las Vegas games on Tuesdays.
The Blackhawks are 0-5 after scoring five or more goals in their previous game. Chicago is 0-6 in its last six when its opponent scores five or more goals in its previous game.
Las Vegas has finally seemingly turned a corner and is looking more like the team it had last season. Chicago has been hapless much of the year and I expect that to continue against a team showing plenty of signs of life.
