Ducks down Oilers in OT
Anaheim (10-9-5) secured its second straight victory with a 2-1 overtime triumph Friday night at home over Edmonton. Rickard Rakell scored the game-winner 14 seconds into the extra session on assists from Brandon Montour and Ryan Getzlaf. Neither team scored through the first two periods with the Oilers grabbing a 1-0 advantage with 11:05 remaining. But the Ducks found the equalizer on a tally by Nick Ritchie with only 17 seconds left on the clock. Rakell and Marcus Pettersson assisted on the goal. John Gibson stopped 27 of 28 shots sent his way in the winning effort.
Preds see three-game win streak snapped
Nashville fell by a count of 6-2 Friday night at the Blues as its three-game winning streak ended. The Predators surrendered two goals in the first seven minutes and trailed 5-1 through two periods with St. Louis grabbing a 6-1 lead in the third period. Nick Bonino scored the first goal for Nashville (16-6-1) on assists from Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Johansen. Ryan Hartman scored the game’s last goal with Kevin Fiala and Dan Hamhuis providing assists. Juuse Saros started in goal, but allowed five goals on 15 shots before being yanked. Pekka Rinne then allowed one goal on 19 shots.
NHL Betting Trends
Anaheim
The Ducks are 0-7 in their last seven road games versus a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. Anaheim is 1-6 in the last seven meetings in Nashville.
Nashville
The home team is 4-1 in the last five meetings. Nashville is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall.
Prediction:
Anaheim really struggles in Nashville and the Predators are going to want to bounce back after an ugly performance in St. Louis. Rinne will start in goal for this one and he was sharp Friday after taking over. I can’t see the Ducks keeping up here and with such a big line, consider taking the puckline bet as I could easily see the hosts winning by multiple goals.
