Martin Jones surrendered five goals on 44 shots in Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins. Oh goodness. Granted, Jones was dealing with all kinds of adversity throughout the evening, but even accounting for Boston’s pushing of the action, this was a rough performance. The 31-year-old netminder was burned for one goal in the first period, two in the second and two more in the third. After the Flyers tied the game at 2-2 on Derick Brassard’s goal midway through the second period, Boston would go on to score the final three goals of the game. Backing up Carter Hart this season, Jones has found himself lagging of late, surrendering nine goals over his last two starts. This coming after Jones had allowed just five goals over the course of his first three starts of the campaign. Philadelphia will meet up with Tampa Bay on Tuesday, when they next take to the ice.

Brian Elliott stopped 28-of-32 shots during regulation and overtime in Sunday’s 5-4 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild. Elliott was making his third start of the season and his first since early November. He mostly held things together through the first two periods of play, but unraveled late in the third to squander a 4-2 lead, surrendering goals to Kevin Fiala and Joel Eriksson Ek, the latter of which came with 39 seconds remaining in regulation. To the 36-year-old goaltender’s credit, he rebounded from those late mistakes with a scoreless overtime and shootout. Unless you happen to be handcuffing Andrei Vasilevskiy, Elliott holds no fantasy value. The Lightning will take on the Flyers on Tuesday as they continue their quest for a third consecutive title.
