New York Islanders DFS Spin

Ilya Sorokin allowed four goals on 34 shots during Thursday's 4-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Sorokin's stat line doesn't look good, but he was arguably the Islanders' best player tonight. He did what he could to keep them in the game, but they just couldn't score on Devils netminder Mackenzie Blackwood. Sorokin now has a 5-3-2 record with a 2.18 goals-against-average and a .933 save percentage this season.

Tampa Bay Lightning DFS Spin

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 26-of-28 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Florida Panthers. Let's get the bad out of the way first, so as to end on a positive note. The bad: Vasilevskiy coughed up goals to Jonathan Huberdeau and Eetu Luostarinen in the second period, the latter of which brought Florida back for the tie after they had fallen behind 2-0 on the scoreboard. The good: Vasilevskiy worked scoreless first, third and overtime periods. We would say that the good outweighed the bad on this night. Vasilevskiy has been playing a stellar crease after a slightly wobbly open to the season, having now ripped off six consecutive starts with two or fewer goals allowed. For reference's sake, he started the season yielding at least three goals in four of five outings. Full speed ahead for the star netminder at this juncture. A Monday showdown with the Islanders shows next on Tampa Bay's schedule.

Islanders vs. Lightning NHL Betting Prediction

The Islanders are 2-6 in their last eight games in Tampa, FL and are 9-20 in their last 26 games versus the Lightning overall. The home team in this series has also won the last four meetings, while the Lightning are 54-23 in their last 77 home games (including 53-23 in their last 76 games as home chalk).
