Tampa Bay cut it back to 4-2 with 1:57 remaining on a Kevin McDonagh goal assisted by Steven Stamkos and Ondrej Palat. The Islanders added an empty-net goal with 36 seconds remaining. Andrei Vasilevskiy surrendered four goals on 25 shots in the loss.

Sabres shut out at home

NHL Betting Trends

Tampa Bay

The Lightning are 6-0 in their last six games played on three or more days of rest. Tampa Bay is 46-10 in its last 56 games versus the Atlantic Division.

The Sabres are 5-0 in their last five games versus the Atlantic Division. Buffalo is 19-40 in its last 59 Friday games.

While the Sabres have had a strong early start to the season, the Lightning are well-rested and due to take a major step forward considering their talent level. Tampa Bay should be charged up for this one considering the atmosphere and would love to show their domination on another continent. Going with the favorites in this spot.
