Flyers fall in OT at Sharks

Philadelphia lost a 4-3 contest in overtime Saturday at San Jose as the game-winner was scored 13 seconds into overtime. Nolan Patrick, Jordan Weal and Jakub Voracek each scored a goal for the Flyers in the defeat. Oskar Lindblom dished out two assists. Philadelphia led 3-2 until the Sharks tied it up with 4:57 remaining in the game. Cal Pickard allowed four goals on 31 shots to take the loss.

Coyotes win fifth straight

After dominating to the tune of a 20-4 goal margin in the first four games of the winning streak, Arizona moved it to five straight with a much closer 4-3 overtime win at home Friday night over the Hurricanes. Michael Grabner scored the game-winner 1:17 into the extra session. Brad Richardson, Brendan Perlini and Nick Cousins all scored in the first period as the hosts grabbed a 3-0 lead before Carolina rallied to tie it up in the third. Antti Raanta recorded 48 saves on 51 shots to pick up the victory.

NHL Betting Trends

The Flyers are 0-4 in their last four games versus a team with a winning record. Philadelphia is 2-10 in its last 12 Monday games.

The Coyotes are 4-1 in the last five meetings. Arizona is 4-0 in its last four versus the Eastern Conference.

The Coyotes appear to be turning a corner with their array of young talent. Heading into this writeup, I thought I was ready to pull the trigger on a Philadelphia bet but the more I looked into it the more I sided with Arizona. While the Coyotes were a little more vulnerable their last game, they still recorded the win and are facing a Flyers team here that isn't overwhelming in the slightest. Bet on Arizona to register a sixth consecutive win.
