Robin Lehner stopped 34-of-38 shots in Friday’s 5-4 shootout win over the Anaheim Ducks. Lehner was very solid through two periods in Friday’s contest. Things fell apart for him and the Knights as he allowed three goals in the final frame but they were largely due to his defence leaving him out to dry. Despite that, Vegas still came away with two points so the blunder will be short lived. Lehner owns a 3-4-0 record with a 3.00 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.
Toronto Maple Leafs DFS Spin
Making his return from a groin injury, Petr Mrazek stopped 27-of-31 shots in Saturday’s 5-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Mrazek was making his first start since injuring his groin in Toronto’s Oct. 14 showdown with the Ottawa Senators. He more than held his own through the first two periods of play, but the third proved a challenge for the 29-year-old netminder. In that third period, Mrazek yielded goals to Alexander Kerfoot, John Tavares and Mitchell Marner. Despite the period-long onslaught, Mrazek happened to be just that much better (read: not quite as horrible) than Red Wings goalie Thomas Greiss, who was undone for five goals in the contest. Mrazek, who went 6-2-3 with a 2.06 GAA and .923 save percentage last season, might need a couple of starts to get his ice legs under him. The Maple Leafs will take on the Golden Knights on Tuesday as they look for another victory.
