Canadiens vs. Bruins Prediction

Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins 10/27/18, Prediction & Odds

The Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins are both off to solid starts this season and will look to continue that with a victory tonight. Will host Boston be the team to bet on as the clear favorite or will Montreal secure an upset?

Canadiens edged at Sabres

Max Domi scored two goals in Montreal's 4-3 loss Thursday night at Buffalo. The Canadiens led 3-2 in the third period before allowing two goals over the final seven minutes. Joel Armia scored the other goal in the defeat. Antti Niemi saved 38 of 42 shots on goal to take the loss.

Bruins shut out Flyers

Boston earned a 3-0 home win over Philadelphia Thursday night to improve to 6-2-2 on the season. Zdeno Chara scored a pair of goals to pace the Bruins, while Jake DeBrusk scored the other goal. Jaroslav Halak saved all 26 shots sent his way to record the shutout. Boston scored twice in the second period and added an insurance goal in the third to roll to the victory.

NHL Betting Trends

The over is 4-0-1 in the last five Canadiens games versus the Eastern Conference. Montreal is 0-6 in the last six meetings.

The under is 4-0 in the last four Bruins games. Boston is 4-0 in its last four games versus the Atlantic Conference.

Boston is rounding into form and starting to get more offensive help from players outside their top line. Defense and goaltending is rarely a question mark for the Bruins when healthy. While Montreal is capable of winning as an underdog in an environment like this, I prefer the way Boston is playing right now and expect it to record another win.
