Avs fall at Blues

Colorado lost by a score of 3-1 Monday night at St. Louis to drop to 7-1-1 with its first regulation loss of the season. The Avalanche fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but tied it up via a Nathan MacKinnon power play goal with 7:22 left in the period. Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen assisted on the goal. The Blues scored twice in the second period to break the deadlock. Philipp Grubauer surrendered three goals on 25 shots in the losing effort.

Golden Knights top Blackhawks in shootout

Las Vegas secured a 2-1 victory Tuesday night at Chicago to improve to 7-4-0 on the season. Jonathan Marchessault and Shea Theodore each put one in the back of the net during the shootout as the Golden Knights won by a count of 2-1. The Blackhawks led 1-0 in the third period until Nick Holden scored with 1:33 remaining off an assist from Paul Stastny. Marc-Andre Fleury registered 31 saves on 32 shots to record the win.

NHL Betting Trends

The Avalanche are 4-0 in their last four games versus the Pacific Division. Colorado is 6-2 in its last eight Friday games.

Las Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights are 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite. Las Vegas is 4-1 in its last five Friday games.

Las Vegas is tough at home and Colorado is maybe due for a little regression even if it is clear it has a very talented team in its own right. With the strange start time and the fact that both teams are rested, I give the edge to the hosts here. Fleury should be in goal and I think he gets enough support from his guys to get Las Vegas the win.
