Penguins fall at home in OT
Pittsburgh lost 3-2 at home to Vancouver in its last game. The Penguins tied it up at 2-2 with 3:14 left in the third period on a goal by Carl Hagelin. Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin assisted on the tally. Jake Guentzel scored his fourth goal of the season in the defeat. Casey DeSmith stopped 23 of 26 shots sent his way for the Penguins.
Leafs roll to win over Kings
Toronto claimed a 4-1 home victory over the Kings to improve to 6-1-0 on the season. The Maple Leafs opened up a 2-0 lead through one period and held on from there. Kasperi Kapanen scored two goals to lead the way to the victory. Patrick Marleau and Mitch Marner added a goal apiece. Auston Matthews dished out two assists. Garret Sparks made 33 saves on 34 shots to pick up the win.
NHL Betting Trends
The Penguins are 0-4 in their last four games playing on one day of rest. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
The home team is 5-1 in the last six meetings. The Maple Leafs are 4-1 in the last five meetings.
I still can't wrap my head around an over-under of seven goals in this game. Expect the scoring to be fast and furious tonight. Pittsburgh certainly has the firepower to keep up, but Toronto is playing with so much confidence right now I can't see them slowing down. Look for Matthews to get on the scoresheet a couple times to lead the hosts to another victory.
