Avalanche vs. Predators Pick
Are the Nashville Predators too much of a favorite when they host the Colorado Avalanche tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Nashville is the clear favorite at home tonight, as the Predators are getting odds of -185 to win. The Avalanche are listed with a money line of +160 to prevail, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 5.5 goals. Nashville has won six straight in this series. Tonight’s game takes place from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Colorado is coming off a 3-1 loss on the road to the Stars on Oct. 14. The Avs are now 4-2 on the season and 2-2 on the road. Colorado is scoring 3.17 goals per game this season while allowing only 2.17 per game. Semyon Varlamov has been great in net, posting a 1.76 GAA over four games with a .944 save percentage. Matt Duchene and Sven Andrigheto are both leading the team with three goals and three assists.
Nashville is coming off a 2-1 OT loss to the Blackhawks in Chicago on Oct. 14. The Predators are now 2-2-1 overall and 2-0 at home. Nashville is putting up just 2.80 goals per game while allowing 3.20 per contest. Pekka Rinne has a 2.77 GAA and .913 save percentage in four games this season. The team is being led by Filip Forsberg, who has five goals with two assists. P.K. Subban is adding seven points as well on one goal and six assists.
Bet on Avalanche vs. Predators
There are reasons to believe the Avalanche can pull this off. Colorado has been great in net and the Predators aren’t an offensive team that is going to overwhelm them. The Predators are perfect at home, but they aren’t exactly dominating on either end either. Nashville also has some injuries piling up at defensemen, which leaves them a little vulnerable. The public is slightly siding with the Predators, but given the long odds, I like Colorado’s chances. I think the Avs end the losing streak to Nashville tonight.
