Bruins shut out Coyotes
Boston earned a 1-0 shutout win at Arizona Saturday night to improve to 2-0-0 on the season. Jaroslav Halak stopped all 35 shots sent his way to record the win in net. Brad Marchand scored the lone goal with 1:19 remaining in the first period on an assist from Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron, Marchand and David Pastrnak led the Bruins with three shots each.
Golden Knights roll at Sharks
Las Vegas recorded a 5-1 victory Friday night at San Jose to move to 2-0-0 on the young season. Wiliam Carrier gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 advantage 5:01 into the contest on assists from Tomas Nosek and Valentin Zykov. Jonathan Marchessault made it 2-0 later in the first off an assist by Shea Theodore. Brayden McNabb scored on a shorthanded goal with 4:38 left in the second period via assists by William Karlsson and Reilly Smith. Nosek added a goal a minute-plus later on assists by Brandon Pirri and Mark Stone. Nosek added another shorthanded goal with 10:50 left in the third period on a Stone assist. The Sharks broke up the shutout with 5:55 remaining. Marc-Andre Fleury picked up the win as he stopped 34 of 35 shots.
NHL Betting Trends
The Bruins are 8-1 in their last nine road games. Boston is 44-14 in its last 58 games versus the Western Conference.
The Golden Knights are 7-3 in their last 10 Tuesday games. Las Vegas is 1-4 in its last five games versus the Eastern Conference.
Las Vegas is back to being a nuisance for all comers this season, specifically San Jose so far as it won both ends of the home-and-home series. The Golden Knights have established their offensive flow so far, while the Bruins only managed one goal at Arizona. With the game in Las Vegas and the hosts having a bit more of an offensive identity in the early going, I'm going with the favorites here.
